There is no equally favorable travel time for Peru. When we are having a beautiful time in the Andes, Lima lies under a blanket of fog, and when it is beautiful on the coast, it rains in the Andes and in the jungle. For the Andes, which most tourists prefer to visit, the ideal time is April / May to September / October.
June, July and August are the best months to travel to Peru, but then it is high season for travel in both Peru and a lot is fully booked. Especially in the first few weeks in August, when the state school holidays are added to the tourist rush, accommodation and coaches get tight. As if by magic, the prices then often double.
So everyone has to weigh for themselves what is more important to them nice weather and many tourists in the high season or trips without Russians in less good weather. I prefer the months between January and March and October and November. I would even like to recommend the latter two months as a rule, provided that a smaller period of rain does not put you off too much.

The classic round trip is in around 4 weeks and probably the most rewarding route Lima - Ayacucho - Cusco - Puno - Arequipa - Nazca - Lima (where cheap flights are a real time saver and you can also fly parts of it).
The time for a trip to the jungle from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado (flight) is relatively tight at 3 days! Of course you can the Cusco - La Paz or Arequipa - Lima sections can also be flown to save even more time. At least 2-3 days should be planned for Cusco and the surrounding area, and another 4 days for the Inca Trail.
Northern Peru: If you have more than 6 weeks, you should definitely plan northern Peru and a trip to the jungle (to Pucallpa or Iquitos).
Second-time visitors to Peru will probably prefer to visit these two regions. The round trip Lima - Trujillo - Cajamarca - Huaraz - Lima can be done in 2 weeks. From Huaraz there is also the possibility to drive back via La Unión to Huánuco and from Huánuco via La Oroya to Lima. Whoever hangs on for a week could also plan a detour to Pucallpa from Huánuco via Tingo Maria. From Pucallpa you can take cargo ships to Iquitos in about 4 days to sail. In addition, from Pucallpa you could travel to Yurimaguas on an adventurous slope via Tingo Maria, Tocache and Tarapoto. From Yurimaguas boats also go to Iquitos.
It is more interesting to include Pucallpa or Iquitos in the travel route. Airlines offer suitable flights via the Lima hub. If you want to make a detour from Cusco to Pto. Maldonado waived, opted for the route Lima - Cusco - Juliaca / Puno (La Paz) - Arequipa - Iquitos - Lima, whereby inexpensive flights can be used. Since there is no road to Iquitos, you have to fly there from Arequipa (via Lima). If you want to exclude Iquitos, you can alternatively take the flight from Cusco - Pto. Install Maldonado.
